Brett Skarbakka on To Do With Wild Growth Into Itself.

“This photo itself was taken in a  mountain village in the mountains of Vietnam. What struck me as so remarkable was a pattern of extreme residential development basically abandoned and overtaken by nature. Generally I am a fine art architectural photographer, and I felt that this image clearly represented the metaphor of the man-made structure as a symbol of the self, and the self being taken over by elements beyond it’s control. I think the way the two trees are almost embracing and suffocating the empty house is strongly effective in this image.”
