I have a Ph.D. in aesthetics, with a thesis about the relationship between  Aristotelian Poetics  and the materialistic aesthetic of György Lukács. As an artist, I’ve always considered my work more of a personal need than a job. So, I’m not interested in disseminating my artworks in a traditional manner, but mainly by collaborating with other artists I consider close to my sensibility. Last year I made the cover art for albums on TOXO Records, a label specializing in experimental/noise music, and took part in several open-air performances held in my city.To describe my work , I could refer to two facts. First, I am always present in my pictures, so it could be said that I take self-portraits. On the other hand, every image revolves around the concept of a blow, a hit. When different pictures meet each other, when there’s a glitch in the post-processing phase, when the empty, negative, black background “crunches” the content of a picture, a “blow” occurs. Then, I observe the reaction of my face and body to this blow coming from without. This fact, I also call the crisis of representation.

Ann Matthewsis a poet, fiction writer and musician who is more widely known as the singer and guitarist in the experimental pop band Ectogram and the Welsh language post-punk group the Fflaps. Angela Mewes I’m living in Berlin, but I grew up at the country side in Germany. I came to Berlin to study at the University of Arts and it was fun to do that. I met people who made me feel at home, so I will stay in the city forever. But I always go back to where I come from. Sometimes I bring fragments of the origin home to Berlin, and it’s called Art.
I met Helena Papadopoulos some years ago and since then we work together. She featured me and I’m proudly looking back on two solo exhibitions that took place at her gallery (Nice & Fit, Berlin).
My work contains explorations in the fields of painting and sculpture to perceive as an installation the moment you enter the show. I’ve been working with video. Cooperations with musicians made me care about lyrics a lot.

Kosmas Nikolaou I was born in 1984, and I don’t see any resemblance with the novel. Since then, I’ve moved several times. The first time was from the maternal hospital to the Lycabettus area; today I am at the 14th change. For me all stops were equally interesting; at Athens, Ioannina, Milano, Volos.
Quite often, I mean always, I don’t fit in, but at the same time I am content with what I find in each place. When I travel, I try to have an idea of what the possible relocation may be.Now I plan my 15th move without knowing either the new adress or the day of departure.

We were talking with a friend, a few days ago, about the generation of artists born in the mid seventies. We came to the conclusion that those who grew up in the midst of the 80’s aesthetic disaster and constructed their social self under the utopian belief in the end of history, during the 90’s, share a few common characteristics. Firstly, they consider their work as either unhistorical and exclusively turned towards the future, or they index it in the continuity of a fantasized view of the 70’s theoretical issues, since they haven’t actually experienced that period. But most importantly, and even though this is just an empirical conclusion, as representatives of that generation, we have a tendency to act in the way that we think someone else would have acted, had they been in our shoes.

I was born in Athens in 1970. I then proceeded to move house/school/city/country/continent a fair amount, something which ended up being useful background experience later on. Well, to the extent that spending your tenth winter in Saudi Arabia can be.Finished high school in Athens and then moved around some more. Fine Art school in Toronto, Canada was an especially low point, matched only by a few more years’ worth of aimlessness in said town. One good thing about it all, was the discovery that, in a recording studio, any sonic material can be rendered meaningful. Of course, after graduating, I had no access to a recording studio, which added to the aimlessness.
Things improved thoroughly simply by moving even more, this time to Asia (first Korea, then Taiwan). Successfully managed to fuse the lifestyle of the traveling english teacher with that of the mad scientist-type composer and, gradually started live collaborations (first in Taiwan, then Brazil) based on improvisations and jams, structured to varying degrees. After the musically humbling experience of Brazil, I’ve traded moving around for making as much music as possible, and have found it just as unpredictable.

Marios Diamantis I was born in Athens in 1982. At the age of 6 I got my first CD player as a birthday present. Since then my relationship with technology became more and more necessary. At the age of 19 I went to a design school in Athens. By the end of my undergraduate studies I started travelling and collaborating with people (first in Italy and then in England). In 2005, I got a Master degree  in Graphic Design and Typography Studies from London College of Printing, where my focus was on the structure and visualization of information. After that, I had a small break and then I moved to New York City. It was there that by looking around me for what it would be next, I came across ITP, which some days later I realized that it means “Interactive Technologies Program” (a New York University program). In 2007, I attended my first programming class at ITP. Then my work became more flexible and unexpected even for me. What I am involved in today has to do with communication, technology, aesthetics, and design.
